Summer is not subtle, this year. Yeah. I know it's not officially summer but around here (Albuquerque, NM), it has been very hot. Yesterday it topped out at 101! Yikes... I opened my front door to go for my regular morning walk, and realized it was already too hot. It was already 80+ at around 9:30am. This morning I was out the door at 7:45am and it was already 76. I do know I need to do this every day and that sometimes physical torture (not really, but it feels like it!) is good for you. Thus, I will persevere. Wish me luck!

COLOR SPACE: Why and When to use Adobe RGB or sRGB
One of the first things we do when configuring a new camera is deciding whether to set the Color Space to Adobe RGB or sRGB. And this isn't a set-it-and-forget-it choice because the mode you select depends upon how you plan to use the photos you capture.

Adobe Removes AI Images in the ‘Style of Ansel Adams’ After Complaint
Adobe Stock has removed a collection of AI-generated images in the style of Ansel Adams’ landscape photography after the late photographer’s estate slammed Adobe for its conduct.
|
On Friday, a message shared to Ansel Adams’ Threads account tagged Adobe with the message: “You are officially on our last nerve with this behavior.” It included a screenshot from Adobe Stock showing a series of black-and-white images in the distinct style of the photography master, but they were AI-generated.

How to Back Up Photos to a Hard Drive with Your Phone
The tempting idea of traveling lightweight is rarely easy as a photographer. It doesn’t take much – just an extra lens here, a sturdier tripod there – and your bag suddenly weighs as much as a bull elephant. While I can’t totally cure your PEES (Packing Excessive Equipment Syndrome), my tip today may help you take the first step to recovery. If you don’t want to carry your laptop with you in the field, try backing up your photos to a hard drive directly via your smartphone instead.

Amongst 20 of the Best Portrait Photographers
Portrait photography, or portraiture, is probably the most popular and one of the oldest forms of photography. Portraits are often about capturing the personality of the subject, using effective lighting, backdrops, and a variety of different candid and staged poses.
|
But more and more photographers take their portraits around the world without the help of a studio environment. Portrait photography, in this case, seems even more honest and candid, compared to staged pictures, as some of these people might be photographed for the first time in their life.
