Below are a few updates on new and newer projects I am working on to share with the Shadow & Light Magazine family. I hope you enjoy reading about them and if you have any questions, let me know. Just click on the link, at the bottom.

• "observations 001" has been released and it is a zine all about me. As I wrote in the intro to #001, "After many years of publishing the artistic endeavors of others, I finally decided as I reached 80...to take off the mask and offer my personal observations on the many things that continue to impress and inspire me to continue photographing, traveling, writing poems and essays, as well as dabbling in other artistic adventures." The feature for the next issue will be Portraits and will feature a selection of portraits I made over the years, including my first which was made in 1972 (above). Some of the images will have back-stories. Click here for additional information!

The zine will only be available in a print format only to better enhance the viewing process. It will be released bi-monthly at 6x6-inches, with 40 pages and you will either be able to purchase single copies or grab an annual subscription. Single copies will be $15 and annual subscriptions will be $75, which will equate to one free issue. The next issue will be released mid-June.

The starter newsletter has now released 124 issues, that arrive in your inbox at 8am every Monday morning. I include short pieces that are inspirational and full of positive vibes, with a nod toward photography and poetry and good feelings. In the current issue, I chat about how teaching may be the best way to learn and there are a few other pieces that might ease your mind and fuel your creative process. In the section View here, I feature Suzanne Roland and her compelling images (above) from the series "Beauty is... Beyond the Veil" portfolio. Here is a link, if you are interested. The View here... section includes photographers who have been or will be featured in issues of Shadow & Light Magazine.
