• As many of you know, I have a newer venture, which is a zine. It is something I have been thinking about for quite some time and now it is out and about available for purchase. The first two issues are out and I am now prepping files for #3. https://timandersonstudio.com/observations/

In my weekly venture, the starter (#136), I include short pieces that are inspirational and full of positive vibes, with a nod toward photography and poetry. You can subscribe for free or opt for the paid versions, with which you will receive every issue. Wow! Wow! Wow! My video all about photographing the 2026 August Eclipse from Spain. I cover the setup, including filters, settings, composition, thoughts on location, the actual totality, what mistakes I did, editing and all the feelings that comes with witnessing such an incredible event on location! 30 female photographers whose work deserves to be celebrated on World Photography Day
World Photography Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the women who have shaped, and continue to shape, the world of photography.
|
While the industry has long been dominated by men, with figures like Ansel Adams often the first names that come to mind, women photographers have been equally influential, capturing some of history’s most iconic images and running groundbreaking studios.

10 Years Later, Hasselblad’s Mirrorless Gamble Has Paid Off In a Huge Way
Hasselblad’s latest financial statements offer further proof that it is a company in rebirth, and that Hasselblad’s decision to join the mirrorless medium format market was exceptionally shrewd and well-timed.
|
Since Hasselblad is not a public company, it doesn’t release financial information in the same way as most of its competitors. However, the company still shares annual reports, as spotted by Photo Rumors. Looking at high-level numbers for the past six years, 2020 through 2025, Hasselblad’s sales revenue and operating profit have increased consistently and significantly.

The Fifty: 50 Billboards, 50 States, and the Fine Print to Read First
VSCO The Fifty is a nationwide open call from the photo-editing app VSCO, and it closes on September 10, 2026. The company will pick 50 photographers, one from every US state, and put their work on billboards. VSCO says it will license the selected images and pay the photographers. Entry costs nothing.
|
The structure matters more than the headline number. Because one slot belongs to each state, a photographer in Wyoming competes against other Wyoming photographers instead of the whole country. Regional shooters therefore face shorter odds here than in a single national large open call competition with one winner.

Reduce the Clutter: A Case for Owning Less
Selling most of your camera collection sounds like a crisis. For this creator, it turned into a way to shoot more freely and pick up a hobby he'd dropped over a decade ago.
|
Noe Alonzo walks through exactly what he kept and what he let go, and the short version is that he's down to a working kit that fits a small bag. His main camera is now the Canon R5, with a Canon film body for analog work and a Ricoh GR III as his travel camera. He describes a recent trip to Hokkaido as the first time he left the R5 at home, and he was surprised how much more he enjoyed the trip without hauling bodies and lenses.
